Mangrove Planting in Bomu is HYPREP pilot planting project. Due to previous oil spill impacts and artisanal refining mangrove losses occurred. Some areas over time natural attenuation has occurred. Using remote sensing, HYPREP has delineated areas requiring direct Planting of mangroves, areas were divided into 9 LOTs and contracted out. Removal of Nipa palm, raking, tilling of sediment and Planting of mangrove seedlings (3 species) will be done by all contractors in their Grids.
