HYPREP MOVES TO PARTNER AUSTRALIA IN INNOVATION, EDUCATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

The Project Coordinator of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP), Prof. Nenibarini Zabbey, has visited the Australian High Commission in Abuja, a move aimed at establishing a strategic partnership between HYPREP and Australia, focusing on innovation, education, and environmental protection.

As HYPREP advances toward the completion of its Centre of Excellence for Environmental Restoration, fostering international partnerships with organizations committed to sustainable environmental management, research, and knowledge exchange is essential. Such collaborations will further support HYPREP’s goal of positioning her Centre of Excellence as a global hub for environmental research and vocational skill acquisition.

Mr. Calum Walker, Political Officer at the Australian High Commission, expressed appreciation for the visit and commended Prof. Zabbey’s outstanding efforts in Ogoniland. He affirmed Australia’s interest in supporting and collaborating with HYPREP in the shared areas of innovation, education, and environmental protection.

The PC was accompanied on the visit by the Post-UNEP team members, Michael Cowing, Chris Newsom and Geraint William.
