90 OGONI WOMEN AND YOUTHS TRAINED BY HYPREP IN MANGROVE NURSERY AND PLANTING

The 90 Ogoni women and youths trained by HYPREP in mangrove nursery and planting, as part of the pilot scheme for mangrove restoration in Ogoniland have been inducted as community volunteers and vanguards for the protection of the vegetation. Speaking at an event in Bomu, Gokana LGA to issue certificates of participation to trainees, PC of HYPREP, Prof. Nenibarini Zabbey says the gesture is to foster community ownership which is a more sustainable measure for mangrove restoration and conservation. The PC later visited the Bomu creek to see the mangrove nurseries.
